Text-a-Poem ran from 2023/4 - 2023/10, its purpose was to engage the Toronto community by putting poetry in people’s pockets, one text away. My idea was built off of earlier Fluxus ideologies of American poet and performer John Giorno's Dial-a-Poem (1968) and Montreal ExpoZINE's 2023 reinterpretation.
Text-a-Poem came to life with the help of illustrator Nikki Ernst and software developer Armin Maurice.
The project started out in Toronto and ended up circulating around in cities around world. Including posters being passed around Halifax, Montreal, New York City, Reykjavik, London and Edinburgh.
